Thundering Herd fans paint the city green

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Paint the Capital City Green is the nation's largest indoor pep rally for Thundering Herd alumni, fans and friends.

Marshall University’s Marching Thunder made their entrance Wednesday at the 'Paint the Capital City Green' pep rally at Embassy Suites. The event helped kick off the school year and the unofficial start of football season.

Festivities were held this year at Charleston's Embassy Suites Hotel.

Marshall fans got to meet President Stephen J. Kopp and hear from head football Coach Mark Snyder and other members of the university's coaching staff as well as key players on the team.

Paint the Capital City Green is hosted by the Big Green Scholarship Foundation, the Marshall University Alumni Association, the Greater Kanawha Valley Alumni Club and the Charleston Quarterback Club.

Event proceeds benefit the Big Green Scholarship Foundation and the Marshall University Alumni Association.

Sounds to me like most of you are in the middle school range, is that about right? You can talk your worthless BS all you want, I'm just enjoying the laughs. As soon as your resent success takes a noise dive, and it will, how many of you will jump off the bandwagon then? There is real fans and supporters, and there are bandwagon fans, I think most of the posters here are bandwagon. I have been a fan and supporter of my school for over 40 years, so there is no reason to change now. How much money do you donate to your school each year? $000, thats what I thought!

Are you WVU fans stalking Marshall? What it sounds like. Just like a crazy ex-girlfriend. Always reading the MU articles, always wondering what's happening in Huntington, always have to throw in your opinions. Do you lay in bed at night, tossing and turning, wondering who the Herd will have on their schedule this year? Wondering if it's a team that's better than WVU? Do you get the shakes everytime you see Randy Moss break a record or score a touchdown? Do you call the Marshall season ticket hotline, and then hang-up when someone answers? It's what you act like.

with embarrassment, RE the Pruett scandal. How long did the highlights from last year's 3 and 9 team take- 20 0r 30 seconds? Of course Manchin had nice things to say to you- he is the traitor who forced this ridiculous series in the first place, and then leaned on WVU to grant special treatment to his daughter. What a guy! And no, you are NOT welcome in Morgantown, and deserve what ever rude treatment you get for forcing your way into a series with us. There was plenty of trash talking and obnoxious behavior in Huntington last year, too, so don't act like you are somehow above such conduct. Come on up to Morgantown, and get the butt kicking you so richly deserve!
