UPDATE: Police identify W.Va. worker killed in fall through roof

WELLSBURG -- A worker killed in a fall at a Northern Panhandle industrial site has been identified.

Police say 57-year-old Eugene Diserio of Beech Bottom fell through a warehouse roof at Eagle Manufacturing in Wellsburg Monday morning, landing more than 20 feet below.

The Charleston office of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration is investigating.

Prentice Cline, OSHA's assistant area director, says it may be several days before he can release more details.

Eagle makes industrial safety and storage containers, as well as hazardous waste management systems.

Company President James Paull did not return telephone messages.

Gene is my first cousin that I have not seen in many years, since I moved from the state of WV. I am deeply saddened by his death. I wish all of my relatives especially his father and mother Gene an Maxine the very best. I wish that I could be there.
