- Well, Nicky Joe Rahall has another bi-weekly oil blurb. What a hoot. First, he wants to take on "Big Oil" and make them use those leases. Is he going to let them drill and explore on them? Now he wants to force the president to tap the Strategic Reserve. How many more bi-weekly oil blurbs will he do until he proposes and supports the common-sense thing? Clue: Explore, drill and expand our own resources and assets.

- Ninety-nine percent of the people in the eastern part of Kanawha County don't want a loud, dusty, filthy track up here. David Higgins needs to stay in Charleston and take care of his own business. God knows Charleston has plenty of problems. Kanawha County is losing enough population the way it is and some hare-brained idea of thunder in the mountains should put the icing on the cake.

- Fear of flying, fear of tainted beef, fear of tomatoes, fear of peppers, fear of going out of our houses - sounds like a resume for being committed to a mental institution. And now we have to fear peppers. Of course, if you live on the West Side, you live in constant fear so peppers take a backseat.

- State roads are terrible in Charleston. We dodge deep holes with no repairs done over long periods, at the cost of repairs to our cars. Iraq roads improved for camels and donkeys are getting precedence.

- I'd like to personally thank the venter who's voted a Republican ticket for the last 20 years and has never seen a more corrupt administration than this one. It's about time someone said that.

- I love to hear ignorant people blame President Bush for the outsourcing of American jobs. What did he have to do with that? If you remember correctly, under the reign of Bill Clinton, taxes went up, NAFTA was his idea, tree-huggers got way too much say and the West Virginia coal miners were put out of work. Now Hillary is against NAFTA.  Maybe she is really trying to admit guilt.

- I don't understand these young girls that take up with these hoodlums and end up being murdered. Something needs to be done about it.

- Who are and what are these people who have taken control of my beloved Democratic Party that I have always supported in the past?

- I will not be voting for John McCain. His wife owns a beer distributorship and we know that beer is alcohol and alcohol destroys lives. It is not of the Lord Jesus Christ. I will be voting for Barack Obama because he is a Christian.

- Bush has lifted the ban on offshore drilling but hasn't asked the oil company executives why they're not drilling in the oil field lands they already own.

- I have been saying for years that there is no police protection over here on the West Side. It's a shame that another catastrophe has to take place before you can see a police cruiser around on the West Side. There needs to be more police protection over here. That's what we pay the user fee for.

- Why are so many people trying to blame the murder of Na'lisha Gravely on the prosecutors and the court system and the Charleston Police? It was Desmond Clark's fault. He pulled the trigger and anyone that knew she was being abused and beaten up should have spoken up. It's not the fault of the police.

- Small city folks, be very wary of metro government. Just remember all the good things Metro 911 promised. I'm still waiting. Are you?

How sad that someone would post the comment about a young lady that lost her life. I agree that she was living a dangerous life and it makes you wonder what was lacking in her life that lead her to the type of violence that she had endured in the last few years. Please show more compassion, you never know when this could be your daughter, friend, neice, ect...

Some girls take up with "hoodlums" before they become so. Its not always about money, the girl might very much disagree with the guy's behaviour but turn a blind eye because she cares about him and doesn't want to jeopardize the relationship. Or perhaps she's been with him so long she can't imagine life without him. Its not always about money, trust me it hurts to watch someone become a "thug". Also, depending on how long a girl has been with him, his behaviour towards drug dealing and her might make her think she is guilty by affiliation and might as well stick around.

I was once in a relationship where we were in fights daily, but he always blamed me for it, and eventually repetition made me feel everything bad about him and about us was "my fault", and that leaving would make it worse and was NOT an option. Its called manipulation. Girls, if you recognize this situation, get out fast!

I can't believe so many people are willing to vote for a Marxist for the most powerful position in the world. Obama supporters evidently want America to fail. Higher taxes = less jobs = less production = failure. "Oh but he is only raising taxes on the over $250K crowd". No, he is raising taxes on everyone. When tax breaks and incentives are removed that is the same as raising taxes. I'll bet the Obama supporters happily took their rebate checks and cashed them. His health care plan is mandatory and will be taken out of your check just like SS and taxes. Some estimate $7K - $11K per year for the "Average" family. If you have a nice health care pan (Union or not) you will lose that and have the National Health care. Obama is a Marxist and people better wake up!
