ATHENS, Ohio - Marshall University's Victor Gomez blasted his ninth home run this season and extended his hitting streak to nine games in a 10-3 win over Ohio in Tuesday night's non-conference baseball game at Bob Wren Stadium.

It was the third consecutive victory for Marshall, which

improved to 23-21-1. Ohio dropped to 20-23.

Marshall starter Shane Farrell (1-1) earned his first collegiate-victory after tossing 62/3 solid innings and scattering six hits. The freshman gave up two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four.
