HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University women's basketball Coach Royce Chadwick has announced the signing of Angelica "Stick" Harris to a national letter of intent to play for the Thundering Herd this fall.
Harris, a native of Memphis, Tenn., comes to Marshall from Rend Lake (Ill.) Community College, where she averaged 14.5 points and six rebounds per game.
She was an extremely accurate shooter in junior college, shooting .450 from the floor and an astounding .400 from three-point range.
"Stick is a tenacious defender and a deadly three-point shooter," Chadwick said.
"We felt three-point shooting was a weakness on our team in '07-08 and she is exactly the type of shooter we were searching for."
Harris will be one of three freshman guards on the team next season, joining 2007-08 redshirts Rashedah Henriques and Tania Walters on the floor.
