CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Several West Virginia and Marshall players appear on the Football Writers Association of America checklist for 2008, including WVU offensive tackle Ryan Stanchek, who was an FWAA All-America selection last season.

WVU sophomore Noel Devine is on two position lists, at running back and kick returner. He is joined by Marshall's Darius Marshall on the returners' list. Two other Herd players are on the FWAA list -- defensive end Albert McClellan and tight end Cody Slate.

Mountaineer players on the All-America checklist are Stanchek and guard Greg Isdaner (offensive line), quarterback Pat White and Pat McAfee, at place-kicker.

The offensive lineman nominations also put Stanchek and Isdaner on the Outland Trophy watch list (centers, tackles, guards), while MU's McClellan is on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list (best defensive player in college football).
