And as for travel, WVU takes thousands of fans to every regional away game - Louisville, Cincinnati, Maryland, Pitt. WVU fans were at Marshall in droves too and will be as long as the series continues. It's close, the tickets were cheap and available, and WVU fans follow their team. But that speaks as much about Marshall's lack of ability to fill its own stadium as it does WVU's excitement over the game.
Finally, WVU has Fairweather Fans? MU can't sell season tickets when the price is only $88. Guess no one jumps on the band wagon when you're down, huh? But I truly wish MU luck. It's not very much fun to have a "rivalry" with a team that has fallen on such hard times. As such, the state of the Coal Bowl is in your hands. It will only be fun if you improve.
