State Police plan weekend checkpoint

West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint over the weekend in Huntington.

Troopers will be at the intersection of Third Avenue and 20th Street at various times Saturday and Sunday. An alternate site for the checkpoint is near the intersection of U.S. 60 and the 29th Street exit off Interstate 64.

Police hope to track down motorists who are driving under the influence, violating seat belt laws and driving recklessly.

You are correct that is is the law......it is a crazy one but still yet it's the law and that's final.

Do you know what the thought process was when they created this law?

It is by law for police depts to publish checkpoint times and dates. It doesn't matter if they do or don't publish them, they are still going to catch plenty of idiots driving around drunk endangering everyone else.
